To the general public;
Dancing is just a job. For most of us, it's just a really convenient source of income.
The majority of us are single mothers, wives to husbands that have been laid off or students that are trying to put themselves through college because they can't get loans or grants. Some are all of the above. Mothers, wives, students. Women in need of work in a poor, struggling economy.
It's an easy source of income because it is daily cash and has an extremely flexible schedule.
It's not something you do because you are a drug addict or alcoholic.There are few girls, and I mean a handful, that really are drug addicts or alcoholics that are trying to support their habit. Most of us are just trying to support our families.
This job is looked down upon in a society that allows their children to watch cartoons that show beheadings (teenage mutant ninja turtles, Family Guy), sex crime shows are widely popular (people being raped and murdered, and children being molested and sold), BUT GOD FORBID YOU SEE A NIPPLE ON THE SCREEN! Everyone will go to Hell. So because of the insecurities or religious policies of you and your family, what I do for a living is wrong. Although, I am pretty sure we as Americans built this country on fleeing religious persecution. Keeping the sanctuary of Secularity (Wiki it).
